Bees & Wasps

Honeybees produce honey from pollen and nectar of the plants they pollinate. They store the honey in honeycombs in their nests. They often build their nests in tree crevices, but will occasionally build nests in attics, chimneys and the walls of your house or commercial properties. It is extremely important to call a professional such as Classic Pest Control to have the bees removed. A pollen bee can cause serious allergic reactions, with one sting from the bee depending upon the individual may or may not have a allergic reaction to the sting, we just do not know. If you do start to have any type respiratory problems or swelling, go to the hospital immediately because this can be life threatening. When a colony of bees moves into your property whether it might be on a tree or on the sides of your home it makes it easier for us to control your problem by calling Classic Pest Control immediately.  There are other companies out there that say they can save the queen and will charge you more.  Unfortunately, bee keepers do not want these hives, because bee keepers which I have worked with in the past say that introduction of these bees into their aviaries can cause devastation to the established bee colonies that they already have. You should know that bees can cause significant property damage when the hives are in walls or ceilings. This is why it is important for the early detection of a beehive or colony. With early detection, we can take care of the beehive before it causes any further problem to your property.

The umbrella wasp and the hornet wasp become active in the early spring looking for food to start their new colony. Fortunately, early detection of their nest is important in the spring. These colonies will continue to grow larger throughout the summer up to the size of a foot in diameter in late September. In September, these large colonies can have over 200 wasps per colony. Sometimes when these wasps are disturbed they will leave the nest and attack us, whether it might be a dog or a child. This particular wasp can sting as many times as it wants, this is why early detection and elimination of the young colony is important. Classic Pest Control certainly can resolve your wasp problems.
